Team development

Investing in a team’s development benefits everyone involved, but especially the person being supported. Better Connected are experts in strengthening the team supporting a person, through promoting insights and providing practical skills.

A sample of our team development topics include:

- Understanding Complex Behaviour

Unwanted behaviour occurs when a person’s needs are not being met. With this it is our responsibility to assist the person to a place where the unwanted behaviours are no longer necessary. This training looks closely at who the person is; what environmental influences might be impacting on them including our behaviour and approach; teaching strategies and planning.

- Developing a Support Network

The essence of a support network is the presence of relationships that evolve over time. The network exists for the purpose of providing quality support and safeguards for the person being supported as well as for each other. By adopting this support network framework helps sustain, nurture and increase longevity of this critical aspect of enabling an individual to do well and prosper.

- What does good support look like?

Providing assistance to a person is a privilege and needs to be done in a way that everyone involved in the situation is finding benefit. To achieve this requires that a trusting and reciprocal relationship is established with clear goals, boundaries and teaching strategies in place for the best possible outcomes.
